Retinal Screening
Retinal screening is offered at least once a year to all patients within Somerset who have a diagnosis of diabetes who are over the age of 12 years. Screening at least annually has the potential to improve quality of life through the early detection and treatment of diabetic eye disease.
Footcare/Podiatry
Your feet are important especially when you have diabetes so you should have them screened at least once a year. The podiatry service can give you advice on how to look after your feet and what type of shoes to wear.
Diabetes Intermediate Care & Community Hospitals
Sitting between the GP surgeries and Acute Hospitals, the Diabetes Intermediate Care Service provides support and education for people with Type1 and Type 2 diabetes.
The NHS Low Calorie Diet
A new 12-month low calorie diet treatment for people who are overweight and living with Type 2 diabetes in Somerset.
